Young pacer Ubaid Shah says he is learning a lot while playing in the Pakistan Super League and believes his team has the best pace attack.
Speaking to Geo Super, he said, “With Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Mustafizur Rahman, we have the best bowling attack in the PSL. I’m getting a great opportunity to learn from senior and experienced fast bowlers. Bowling alongside them is a big thing for me.”
He also spoke about the support he gets from his captain. “Captain Shaheen Afridi trusts me, and I feel honored to open the bowling attack with him. If I can keep learning here, I will improve,” Ubaid added.
The 20-year-old has started well in the tournament. He took two wickets in his first match. In the next game, he did not take a wicket but kept his bowling tight.
He says his main focus is always the team. “Whenever I play a tournament, my goal is to perform well for the team and become the best bowler. I don’t try to copy any specific bowler. I watch those who are doing well and try to learn from them,” he said.
Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have a strong squad this season. The team includes Bangladesh players Parvez Hossain Emon and Mustafizur, along with overseas players like Rubin Hermann and Dunith Wellalage.
Their pace attack has looked very strong. It includes Shaheen, Haris and Mustafizur. Mustafizur has been in great form and has given away only one boundary in two matches. Shaheen has also bowled well.
