Two workers were killed and another seriously injured after being electrocuted while carrying out electrical work at the new building of Bandarban Sadar Hospital on Thursday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Sakib, 20, and Kamrul Hasan, 35. Another worker, Mainuddin, sustained severe injuries and is receiving treatment.
Sub-Inspector Triratna Barua of Bandarban Sadar Police Station confirmed the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the workers were working on an 11 kV transmission line in the hospital’s new building when they were suddenly electrocuted.
Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
