Two more garment factories in Bangladesh have received the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC), reaffirming the sector’s global leadership in green industrial practices.
Evitex Apparels Limited in Gazipur and Aswad Composite Mills in Ashulia, Savar have been awarded Gold-level LEED certificates for their performance in sustainability and green building standards.
With this recognition, the total number of LEED-certified RMG factories in Bangladesh has reached 250 — including 105 with Platinum and 131 with Gold ratings.
Leaders in the RMG industry say the achievement reflects Bangladesh’s continued commitment to environmentally responsible production. The country now hosts 9 of the world’s top 10 highest-rated LEED factories and 68 of the top 100, consolidating its position as a global pioneer in sustainable apparel manufacturing.
