Two people were killed in separate road accidents in the capital’s Badda and Demra areas in the early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Hasan, 30, and an unidentified woman, aged around 25. Hasan worked as a ride-sharing motorcyclist and lived in the Badda area.
According to his father, Hasan was riding his motorcycle through the Middle Badda area around 1:30am on Tuesday when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle.
He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
In a separate incident around 4am, an unidentified woman was killed in front of the Demra Staff Quarter.
Demra Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Mahbubur Rahman said police recovered the woman from the scene after being informed of the accident. She was taken to DMCH, where doctors declared her dead.
Her body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for an autopsy.
