Bollywood actor Aamir Khan met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his Mumbai residence on Sunday, as his nephew, actor Imran Khan, challenged an official notice directing him to leave India.

According to NDTV, the meeting took place days after the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) issued Imran a Leave India Notice dated 14 October, asking him to leave the country by 28 October.

The purpose of Aamir’s visit was not immediately known.

Imran has approached the Bombay High Court, challenging the notice and seeking its cancellation.

The directive reportedly alleges a violation of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, linked to his participation in a protest in Mumbai on 10 October.

The protest called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

In his petition, Imran described the notice as unconstitutional and sought an immediate stay.

He also requested protection against possible deportation, the issuance of a Look Out Circular and other coercive measures that could affect his Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status.

The court proceedings were scheduled for 19 October. Imran’s legal challenge remains ongoing.

Aamir and Raj Thackeray have shared cordial relations over the years and have attended family functions hosted by each other. However, neither had publicly explained the purpose of their latest meeting.
