Pallabi Police have detained two members of juvenile gang along with native weapons in the capital’s Pallabi.
The detained individuals have been identified as Monarul Islam, 14 and Md Ruhul Amin, 15. Both are residents of Bauniabadh area in Dhaka.
The arrests were confirmed by Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Salahuddin Al-Mamun of Pallabi Police Station.
According to the police, a juvenile gang consisting of 40 to 50 members was parading with native weapons at Section-11 free-wheeler stand under Pallabi Police Station on Friday.
Upon receiving information, a patrolling police team rushed to the scene, prompting the gang members to attempt to flee.
During a subsequent chase, police managed to apprehend Monarul and Ruhul, recovering two cleavers from their possession. The other members of the gang, however, managed to escape.
Police said the process of taking legal action regarding the incident is currently underway. Meanwhile, efforts to identify and arrest the other fleeing members of the gang are ongoing.
