Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two people in connection with the double murder in Khulna city’s Harintana area.
The suspects are Md Faruk and Masudul Islam Kadar, said RAB-6 in a press release on Monday.
A RAB team arrested them from Barni South Para in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj using technological assistance, according to the release.
Manzurul was hacked and shot by a group of assailants at Balur Math in the Harintana area on 10 August, RAB said.
Later that night, the body of another young man, Nazmul, was recovered from the Shishubagan Ashibigha area around 9:45pm.
RAB said the second killing was carried out in retaliation for the first murder.
The assailants fled the area after the killings. Separate cases were filed with the respective police stations over the two incidents.
Following their arrest, Faruk and Kadar were handed over to Labanchara Police Station for legal action.
RAB said efforts to arrest the other suspects are continuing.
