On Saturday, residents of Geneva Camp in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area detained top drug dealer Bunia Sohel, after which they severely beat him up and hand him over to the police.
He was arrested from Block 4 later when army members arrived at the scene and took him into their custody. Police have since confirmed the arrest of the drug dealer, one of law enforcement’s most wanted criminals.
The newly appointed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station, Kazi Md Rafiqul Ahmed, informed TIMES of Bangladesh that Sohel was seriously injured after the residents had detained him.
He is currently receiving treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
