Speculation is swirling in the entertainment world once again, as actress Mahiya Mahi may be reuniting with her husband, businessman and politician Rakib Sarkar.
The popular Dhallywood star married Rakib Sarkar on September 13, 2021. Their marriage, which blossomed from a decade-long friendship into love, appeared happy and stable. Together, they welcomed a son, Farish, and even opened a restaurant in Gazipur named Farista before his birth.
However, on February 16 last year, Mahi publicly announced their separation through a Facebook video. “Rakib and I decided to marry because of our mutual understanding,” she had said. “But at one point, we realized that it was no longer possible to live together. So, we decided to part ways. We are already living separately.”
She also mentioned that they would formalize the divorce soon, though neither confirmed later whether that ever happened.
Following the announcement, the couple stayed away from public appearances together. That changed on Monday night (October 13), when Mahi posted two new photos on Facebook that reignited rumors of reconciliation.
In the photos, Mahi is seen affectionately holding her son Farish along with two other children, while Rakib stands beside them. Her caption read simply: “MashAllah.”
Fans quickly flooded the comment section with messages of love and curiosity. Many wondered if the couple had decided to give their marriage another chance, with one comment reading, “May everything be like before again.” Others congratulated the actress with heart emojis and warm wishes.
According to sources close to the couple, the two other children in the photos are from Rakib’s previous marriage. They reportedly share a good relationship with Farish and are often brought together by both Mahi and Rakib, and it is also said that Rakib frequently visits to see his son; during those visits, he and Mahi spend time together.
Some insiders claim that the couple has indeed reconciled, while others suggest they were never truly separated, only going through a rough phase.
When contacted for clarification on whether she and Rakib are officially back together or still separated, Mahiya Mahi could not be reached for comment.
