The weather office has issued a warning stating that 19 districts across the country may experience thundershowers accompanied by squally winds by evening.
In response to the weather conditions, the agency has advised river ports in the relevant areas to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
According to forecast for internal river ports, effective from 9am to 6pm on Friday, rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds from the South/South-East at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour, are likely to occur over several regions.
The districts under the alert include Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jessore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet.
