A tree crashed onto three private cars near the Abahani Playground on Dhanmondi Road 12/A in Dhaka during heavy rain Monday night.
The vehicles sustained extensive damage, but authorities confirmed that no casualties occurred.
Traffic police said rain began in the capital after evening, slowing movement across several roads. At one point, the large roadside tree suddenly toppled, blocking the street and trapping three cars passing through.
All three were severely damaged, though occupants escaped unharmed.
Fire Service personnel reached promptly after being alerted, cutting and removing the fallen tree to clear the road.
The obstruction, combined with continuous rainfall, forced authorities to suspend traffic on the route. This led to severe congestion across Dhanmondi, causing significant suffering for commuters.
