The Team Phoenix Group has secured a grant from the APNIC Foundation’s ISIF Asia Program to launch SecureNet BD, a new initiative aimed at enhancing cybersecurity in Bangladesh, according to a press release.
As Bangladesh’s digital transformation accelerates, the risk of cyber threats is rising, especially for institutions and communities outside major cities that lack affordable training and security infrastructure. SecureNet BD aims to address these challenges.
The initiative will establish Bangladesh’s first Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE) and a community-driven Security Operations Center (SOC) / CSIRT, providing training, resources, and support for local organizations.
Through SecureNet BD, The Team Phoenix Group plans to train over 1,000 individuals nationwide, with a focus on ensuring 30% women’s participation. The program will also develop a Cyber Range for hands-on training and defense simulations, alongside launching a Fellowship & Mentorship Program to nurture future cybersecurity leaders. Additionally, a Community SOC/CSIRT will be deployed to assist academic institutions and nonprofits in defending against cyber threats.

The initiative is expected to enhance Bangladesh’s cybersecurity capabilities and position the country as a key player in regional cybersecurity efforts.
