The 1975 frontman Matty Healy and model-musician Gabbriette Bechtel have officially tied the knot in a romantic Los Angeles ceremony.
The couple married on Saturday, 18 July, at Castillo del Lago, the former estate of Madonna located near the Hollywood sign. The outdoor wedding took place at the Spanish Colonial Revival mansion in the Hollywood Hills.
A video shared on TikTok showed the newlyweds exchanging vows, kissing at the altar and posing for photographs after the ceremony.
Healy, 37, wore a classic black tuxedo, while Bechtel, 28, appeared in a glamorous white wedding gown with a traditional veil. She completed her bridal look with a half-up, half-down hairstyle and minimal makeup.
Representatives for the couple confirmed the wedding in a statement to People.
“Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel were married yesterday at a private ceremony in Los Angeles, attended by their family and close friends,” they said.
The ceremony featured several celebrity guests, including Charli XCX and her husband George Daniel, who is Healy’s bandmate in The 1975. The guest list also reportedly included Anastasia Karanikolaou, Fai Khadra, Alex Consani, Devon Lee Carlson and fiancé Duke Nicholson, Sydney Lynn Carlson, Tyrell Hampton, Alex O’Connor and Quenlin Blackwell.
The wedding followed the couple’s bachelor and bachelorette celebrations. According to Rolling Stone UK, Healy celebrated his bachelor party in Malibu, California, where he performed “The Sound” on stage with 9075, a The 1975 cover band.
A fan page later shared a photo of The 1975 members and the 9075 performers wearing outfits inspired by different eras of Healy’s career. Healy was seen wearing a ginger wig, appearing to reference his look from the band’s “Give Yourself a Try” music video.
Healy’s mother, Denise Welch, previously shared her excitement about the wedding. Speaking on Tom Hirschsprung’s Podcast in May, she said she was “very excited” for the couple. She had earlier praised Bechtel during Loose Women in 2024, saying she was “thrilled” to welcome her into the family.
Bechtel, who professionally goes by Gabbriette, had also shared her thoughts on wedding planning during a Jimmy Choo bridal campaign in February 2026. She described marriage celebrations as “a celebration, not a performance” and said they should focus on love.
The couple first sparked romance rumours in September 2023 after they were spotted kissing in New York City. They announced their engagement on 11 June 2024 after attending Charli XCX’s Brat show in Brooklyn, New York.
Bechtel shared pictures of her engagement ring, which featured a black diamond surrounded by pavé diamonds. She captioned one post, “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT,” while tagging Healy.
Charli XCX and George Daniel played a key role in introducing the couple. In 2019, Charli formed the band Nasty Cherry and selected Bechtel as a member. The band’s journey was later documented in the Netflix series I’m with the Band: Nasty Cherry.
Bechtel and Healy’s friends had reportedly tried to introduce them for four years before they finally connected. Bechtel previously told Homme Girls, “He came to L.A. and we’ve been in love ever since.”
In June 2024, a source told People that the couple “quickly fell in love” and had a “serious and intense relationship from day one”, adding that they preferred to do things their own way.
