A teacher was killed after being run over by a BRTC bus in Dayaler Mor area of Naogaon town Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Yusuf, 45, a resident of Jagatsinghpur Hajipara in Naogaon town and a teacher at Joypurhat Technical School and College.
Family members and locals said the accident occurred around 8am while Yusuf was travelling to the college on his motorcycle. His motorcycle collided with a battery‑run auto‑rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, causing him to fall onto the road.
At that moment, a BRTC bus coming from the opposite direction ran over him.
Witnesses said the bus driver had no chance to avoid the incident as Yusuf had already lost control and fallen into the vehicle’s path after the initial collision.
Mohammad Asaduzzaman, officer‑in‑charge of Naogaon Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident and said necessary legal measures are being taken.
