National Board of Revenue’s (NBR) Central Intelligence Chief Ahsan Habib has been promoted to member (tax).

This was disclosed on Tuesday in a notification issued by the government in this regard.

The Internal Resources Division issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday. It stated that Ahsan Habib, currently serving head of CIC, has been promoted to the current charge of the member (tax) post.

The notification mentions that he will join the new responsibilities after handing over his previous duties. No additional financial benefits or claims regarding rank can be made for performing this duty. The term ‘Current Charge’ must be used with his official title for official purposes. He will perform his duties according to the rules and regulations issued by the Finance Division.

Meanwhile, in three separate notifications, six more officers from the NBR’s tax cadre have been transferred and reshuffled.

Additional Tax Commissioner Mohammad Tariq Iqbal has been transferred from Range-1 to Range-2 of Dhaka Tax Zone-7, and Additional Tax Commissioner Chand Sultana Chowdhury has been posted to Gazipur Tax Zone.

In another notification, two Joint Tax Commissioners, Masuma Khatun, special In-charge officer of the National Board of Revenue to the E-Tax Management Unit (ETMU), and Pallab Kumar Deb, has been posted from the ETMU to Dhaka Tax Zone-9.

Furthermore, Deputy Tax Commissioner Shahin Sultana has been transferred from Tax Zone-20 to the BCS (Tax) Academy, and Nusrat Jahan Shami has been transferred from Special In-charge Officer to Comilla Tax Zone.

The notification stated that these orders, issued with the approval of the appropriate authority, will take effect immediately.
