Prime Minister and party Chairman Tarique Rahman conducted official duties at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan on Saturday. He arrived at the central office at 7pm, according to the prime minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman.
From his chamber at the central office, he held discussions with leaders of the party and its affiliate organisations regarding various organisational activities.
Key figures present at the meeting include BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed, and Vice Chairman Nurul Islam Moni.

Earlier in the day, Tarique chaired a meeting of the BNP Parliamentary Committee at the Sangsad Bhaban, where various issues concerning the parliamentary session were discussed. He proceeded to Naya Paltan directly from the parliament building.
This marks his first visit to the party office since being sworn in as Prime Minister.
Upon hearing of the chairman’s planned visit, activists and supporters began gathering in front of the office from 2:30pm. By 4:30pm, a massive surge of people had taken to the streets of Naya Paltan.
The entire area resonated with the slogan “Tarique Rahmaner agomon, shubhecha swagotom” as supporters welcomed his arrival.
Security was tightened ahead of the visit, with members of the Prime Minister’s special security force and other law enforcement agencies taking up positions in and around the office since Saturday morning.
