If former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is not taken abroad for advanced medical treatment, Tarique Rahman will return to the country soon, according to BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee.
He said, “If the situation for taking her abroad does not materialise, then Tarique Rahman will come back very quickly. Perhaps within twenty or forty days, he will come.”
He made this remark at a meeting of Ward No 14 of Lakshmipur Municipality on Wednesday afternoon.
Mentioning that this time’s election will be difficult and against invisible forces, he alleged that the Awami League has not left a situation suitable for voting by committing oppression and torture.
Present at that time were District BNP Member Secretary Sahabuddin Sabu, Lakshmipur Municipality BNP President Rezaul Karim Liton, General Secretary Nizam Uddin, BNP leader Nasir Uddin, District Women’s Wing President Sabera Anwar, and General Secretary Fatema Akter Sumi Bhuiyan, among others.
