Bangladesh is observing Supreme Court Day today, 18 December.
On the occasion, the Supreme Court is holding a special discussion programme at 4pm at the Supreme Court auditorium.
Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed is attending the programme as the chief guest.
Judges of the Appellate Division and the High Court Division are participating in the event.
The programme also brings together the Attorney General, the President and Acting Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association, the Vice-Chairman of the Bar Council, invited guests, and officials from the Supreme Court Registry and Supreme Court Secretariat.
The Supreme Court of Bangladesh began its journey on 18 December 1972 under the Constitution of Bangladesh.
A full court meeting on 25 October 2017 unanimously decided to observe 18 December each year as Bangladesh Supreme Court Day.
