The minister added that the ministry is working to reduce academic session backlogs by holding SSC and HSC examinations immediately after syllabus completion.

Emphasising the importance of sports in students’ physical and mental development, the minister said a nationwide football tournament for primary school students has been ongoing since 4 April.

The competition, featuring both boys’ and girls’ teams, will conclude with its final round at the National Stadium on 20 June.

The minister further said that the government’s broader goal is to build a joyful and humane education system.

He added that equal importance is being given to sports, cultural activities, moral education, family values, school uniforms, and mid-day meal programmes.
