The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on 20 July, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced on Monday.
Milon shared the date during a press conference held at the Secretariat regarding several ongoing initiatives, including the “Startup, Science Project and Innovative Idea Exhibition Programme” and the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament.
He stated that the evaluation of exam scripts and all related processes are being expedited, with education boards already instructed to complete their preparations.
Combatting session jams
Highlighting the government’s resolve to eliminate session jams, Milon noted that many students currently take until the age of 20 to complete studies that should finish at 18.
“The government is committed to smoothing the path to higher education and preventing the waste of time after examinations,” he said.
Milon issued a stern warning that educational institutions must ensure three-year courses are completed in three years and five-year courses in five years, stating that no “waiting sessions” or delays would be tolerated.
He emphasised that such measures are essential to fully reap the benefits of the demographic dividend. These structural reforms are being extended beyond the SSC to include Higher Secondary and university levels.
Future planning
Regarding this year’s academic progress, Milon confirmed that the student syllabus would be completed by June.
To permanently eradicate session jams, a draft routine has been developed following discussions with stakeholders, scheduling the 2027 SSC examinations to begin on January 7 and conclude on February 8.
Milon added that the government is currently monitoring public reaction and feedback regarding this routine and will hold further discussions with students, teachers, and parents before reaching a final decision.
