Litton Das has been ruled out of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) after suffering a calf strain during the final ODI against Australia. Galle Gallants have signed wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan as his replacement, according to a source close to the developments.
Litton had already been granted leave from Bangladesh’s T20I series against Zimbabwe to participate in the LPL and had received a no objection certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The plan was for him to play the final two ODIs against Zimbabwe before joining the Sri Lanka-based franchise.
However, the Bangladesh T20I captain failed to recover in time and was eventually ruled out of the remainder of the ODI series. He has since returned home and begun his rehabilitation.
Sohan, who has been drafted in as Litton’s replacement at Galle Gallants, is currently with the Bangladesh squad in Zimbabwe. He is expected to join the franchise after the conclusion of the three-match T20I series, which begins on Wednesday.
