Popular singer Tausif Ahmed has suffered a stroke. On December 29, he suddenly lost consciousness at his residence, fell to the floor, and sustained a serious head injury. The impact caused heavy bleeding, and doctors had to place 27 stitches on his head.
Subsequent medical examinations confirmed that Tausif Ahmed had suffered a stroke. He was initially admitted to City Hospital in Dhanmondi and later transferred to Ibn Sina Hospital. After receiving treatment for three days, his physical condition showed some improvement, and he was discharged and returned home on Thursday.
Speaking about the incident, Tausif Ahmed said, “On December 29, I suddenly felt dizzy and fell. I suffered a severe head injury and lost a lot of blood. I needed 27 stitches on my head. I’m feeling a bit better now than before, but many more tests are still needed. Please keep me in your prayers.”
Tausif has been battling various health complications for a long time. He first suffered a heart attack in April 2022 and was kept under observation for six hours at a hospital in Dhanmondi. He experienced a second heart attack in October 2024. Following medical advice, he had mostly been resting at home since then. The recent stroke once again required hospitalization.
Although illness has prevented him from singing regularly as he once did, Tausif has expressed a strong desire to return to music. He said, “How long can one stay confined at home like this? My health hasn’t been good for several years, and I haven’t been able to go out much. But I’m not myself without music. I want to recover and return to singing again.”
Tausif Ahmed has delivered numerous popular songs, including ‘Dure Kothao Achhi Boshe’, ‘Brishti Jhore Jay’, ‘E Moner Anginay’, ‘Ek Poloke’ and ‘Jaan Pakhi’. In addition to being a singer, he is also well known as a lyricist, composer, and music arranger.
His first solo album, ‘Obhipray’, was released in 2007. Although he has appeared occasionally with new songs, ongoing health issues have made him irregular in recent years, despite his enduring popularity with listeners.
