Child actor Simrin Lubaba has marked her birthday by asking her followers to pray for her and expressing her wish to lead the next chapter of her life in a way that pleases Allah.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (16 August), Lubaba thanked Allah for allowing her to complete another year of her life and sought forgiveness for her past mistakes.
“Alhamdulillah, another year of my life has passed. As I grow older, my greatest wish is to become closer to Allah and increase my taqwa. I sincerely ask all of you to pray for me. May Allah forgive all my past mistakes, bless my future, grant me the ability to live with faith and give me opportunities to perform good deeds,” she wrote.
She further prayed, “O Allah, grant me the ability to spend the rest of my life on the path that pleases You. Bless me, my family and the entire Muslim ummah with goodness in this world and the hereafter. Ameen.”
Lubaba also expressed gratitude to Allah for another year of life. She said she hopes her closeness to Allah and taqwa will continue to grow with age, while praying for forgiveness for her past mistakes and blessings for the years ahead.
At the end of her post, Lubaba said her followers’ prayers mean a great deal to her. She also shared the prayer, Rabbi zidni ilma wa barik li fi umri, meaning, “O my Lord, increase me in knowledge and bless my life.”
She concluded the post with, “Ameen Ya Rabbal Alamin.”
Lubaba previously made headlines over reports surrounding her engagement.
After sharing photographs with her fiancé on social media, speculation about her marriage began circulating.
While many congratulated her, some criticised her over allegations of child marriage.
Lubaba later clarified that she was not married and had only exchanged rings with her fiancé. She said their engagement was held in a private family ceremony with the consent of both families.
Regarding their marriage, Lubaba said in a social media post that they would marry at the legally prescribed age under Bangladeshi law.
The granddaughter of late actor Abdul Kader, Lubaba has been a familiar face in the entertainment industry since childhood. Alongside acting as a child artiste, she has also worked as a model.
However, towards the end of last year, she announced her decision to step away from the entertainment industry.
Since then, she has occasionally made headlines through her personal life and social media posts. Her latest birthday message seeking prayers has once again drawn attention from her followers.
