Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) and the Liberation War Museum will jointly host Le Voyage de Rézé, a multidisciplinary performance combining live music, illustration and visual storytelling, on Tuesday at 7pm.
The event, to be held at the Liberation War Museum, will explore cultural diversity, human connections, borders and the encounters that bring people together through a blend of sound and imagery.
Created by Les Productions du Bazar, the production brings together singing, percussion, original music, live drawing and video in an intimate performance that moves beyond the traditional concert format.
The programme features music from different cultures, original compositions, familiar tunes and lesser-known or newly created works. Artist and illustrator Emé will sketch people, places and moments live, allowing drawings to emerge alongside the music.
The four-member team comprises Rézé, a guitarist, singer and composer influenced by jazz and African and Brazilian music; Sofiran, a percussionist and vocalist who explores African, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms; Emé, whose work centres on illustration and live drawing; and Christoo, who works across video, photography and artistic production.
Bringing together their different disciplines, the artists create a shared experience in which music, visuals and movement interact throughout the performance.
For the team, travelling is not limited to crossing geographical boundaries. It also means encountering new cultures, languages and people while discovering the personal stories that connect them.
Le Voyage de Rézé draws on these experiences to encourage cultural exchange and dialogue.
The production has toured theatres, cultural venues, schools, libraries and festivals across France.
Its international projects have also taken the artists to Réunion, El Salvador, Burkina Faso and Brazil, where their activities have included workshops, exhibitions, meetings and travel journals.
Education and audience participation remain central to the project. The artists organise workshops for different generations, covering music, rhythm, percussion, drawing, photography and video to encourage creative learning and exchange.
The performance is open to audiences aged six and above. Advance registration is required. Interested attendees can register by emailing their name and mobile number to [email protected].
