Shweta Tiwari has reportedly been hospitalised after testing positive for dengue, days before the premiere of The Traitors Season 2.
Reports say the actor is receiving treatment and recovering. However, neither Tiwari nor her team has publicly confirmed the hospitalisation so far.
According to NDTV, the reported health scare has also highlighted a key concern about dengue: hospitalisation does not depend on platelet count alone.
Most patients recover with proper medical supervision, adequate fluids and regular monitoring. However, some cases can progress to severe dengue, even when the fever appears to be settling.
Dr Sanjay Raina, HOD, Internal Medicine, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, said doctors consider the patient’s overall condition, hydration, bleeding, blood pressure and other warning signs when deciding whether hospital care is necessary.
