Content creator and actor Shreya Kalra, who recently won Lock Upp Season 2, has ruled out participating in Bigg Boss 20 as a contestant, saying her experience on the reality show was mentally and emotionally exhausting, reports Hindustan Times.
Shreya lifted the Lock Upp 2 trophy on Wednesday and took home ₹1 crore in prize money.
Following her victory, speculation began about whether she would enter Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 20.
However, Shreya has made it clear that she has no plans to participate in another reality show as a contestant for now.
Speaking on her Instagram channel, Clock It With Shreya, the reality star addressed the questions about her possible Bigg Boss appearance.
“Doston, jo mujhse puch raha hai main Bigg Boss jaungi ki nahi- Main just abhi ek pagalkhane se nikal ke aayi hoon. I am not planning to do any reality show as a contestant right now because it was mentally exhausting and very taxing,” she said.
However, Shreya added that she would be open to returning to the reality television space in a different role.
“So no Bigg Boss for me, but if there’s an opportunity to host, mentor, or become a gang leader, then I’ll definitely be excited. Maza aajayega agar aisa kuch hogaya tha. But contestant? No bro, too much to take in,” she added.
Shreya’s journey on Lock Upp Season 2 saw her transform from one of the show’s most controversial contestants into its eventual winner.
From the beginning, she frequently clashed with fellow contestants and formed only a couple of close friendships during her time in the house.
She was also praised by the show’s hosts for carrying the game and provoking strong reactions from other contestants.
Shreya performed strongly in several tasks throughout the season and eventually made it to the finale, where she defeated Shivangi Joshi to claim the trophy and ₹1 crore.
The contestants for Bigg Boss 20 have not yet been officially revealed.
Several names, including Nia Sharma, Arjun Bijlani, Karan Patel and Jannat Zubair, have been rumoured to be part of the upcoming season.
The show’s teaser has already generated curiosity around its theme.
In the promo, Salman Khan makes a grand entrance on a horse before saying, “Joh Karan Arjun mein hua tha, woh hoga ab Bigg Boss mein… Thathastu!”
A second promo revealed that every contestant will receive a ‘vardaan’, further fuelling speculation about the format.
Bigg Boss 20 is scheduled to premiere on 6 September on JioHotstar and Colors.
