Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election–2026, the Ziaur Rahman Foundation has formed a Central Election Management Committee.
Bangladesh Open University (BOU) Treasurer Professor Dr Abul Hasnat Md Shamim has been appointed Joint Convener, a decision described as significant, according to a press release.
Dr Syeda Tajnin Warish Simky will serve as Convener, while Engineer Md Mahbub Alam has been appointed Member Secretary. The committee includes 24 academicians, engineers, lawyers, journalists and professionals from different sectors.
The Foundation said the committee will play a key role in strengthening the organisational capacity of BNP and ensuring effective election management and coordination. Dr Shamim said, the responsibility is both an honour and a commitment.
