The lavish wedding of actor and poet Shailesh Lodha’s daughter, Swaraa Lodha, has become a talking point on social media, with many users expressing surprise at the grandeur of the ceremony held at the iconic Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.
According to Hindustan Times, videos from the wedding showed an elaborate celebration featuring fireworks, grand decorations and a royal welcome for guests. Actor Vicky Kaushal also attended the ceremony and was seen meeting the Lodha family and congratulating the newlyweds.
The visuals sparked a wave of reactions online. Some users joked about the scale of the wedding, with one asking, “Didn’t you invite Jethalal?” Others expressed surprise at Lodha’s wealth, while several fans defended him by pointing to his long television career and his successful journey as a poet.
Swaraa married Shashwat, who works in the banking sector and is based in Singapore. Guests received a traditional royal welcome, with horses and camels stationed outside the venue.
Shailesh Lodha is best known for playing the title role in the long-running television sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which aired from 2008 until his departure in April 2022. He was later replaced by Sachin Shroff. Apart from the popular sitcom, Lodha has also appeared in shows including Comedy Circus, Waah Waah and Kya Baat Hai.
Vicky Kaushal shares a close bond with Lodha. Recently, the actor posted a heartfelt message praising Kaushal’s humility despite his success. Kaushal is currently filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love And War, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
