Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC organised the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) at Chuadanga Sadar in Chuadanga district.

The programme was implemented with financial support from the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance and supervision of Bangladesh Bank, the bank said in a press statement.

The programme was presided over by Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, while Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Husne Ara Shikha attended as chief guest.

Certificates were distributed among 25 trained entrepreneurs, while five selected entrepreneurs received dummy cheques worth Tk16 lakh for business expansion and five others were awarded in different performance categories.

Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank and Program Director of SICIP-PIU Md Masum Billah, Executive Director of ATMABISWAS Md Akramul Haque Biswas and Head of SME and Agriculture Investment Division of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Md Abdur Rahim also attended the event along with senior officials from the bank’s corporate head office and managers from the Chuadanga region.

A product fair was also held at the venue featuring stalls from 25 entrepreneurs trained under the programme, showcasing products from agro-processing, handicrafts, fashion, IT and bakery sectors. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed said that developing skilled entrepreneurs is essential for employment generation and sustainable economic growth, adding that the initiative will strengthen local enterprise development and contribute to Bangladesh’s industrial progress.
