Rahman is creating Asha Forever as a celebration of Bhosle’s enduring contribution to music.
The project is scheduled to be released on World Music Day and will bring together several artists, including Rahman himself, alongside archival vocals from Bhosle.
Rahman recently announced on X that Shah Rukh Khan would join the tribute.
Thanking the actor for agreeing to participate, he wrote, “A heartfelt thank you to dear Shah Rukh Khan for graciously agreeing to be part of Asha Bhosle ji’s tribute music video.”
Khan shared a warm bond with Bhosle and has often spoken about his admiration for the veteran singer.
His involvement adds another emotional dimension to a project designed to honour her remarkable career.
Rahman first offered a glimpse of Asha Forever in June, when he released a teaser showing musicians, performers and artists from different backgrounds coming together for the tribute.
The project was conceived while Bhosle was still alive. Rahman had described it as a celebration of a voice that crossed generations, languages and borders.
Bhosle herself had participated in the recording before her death and appears in the teaser alongside Rahman and the other artists.
