The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has launched a Security Operations Center (SOC) with the aim of strengthening cybersecurity.
On Sunday, NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan formally inaugurated the Security Operations Center at the organisation’s headquarters in Dhaka.
NBR officials stated that this initiative has been taken as part of implementing the cybersecurity policy and compliance formulated by the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA).
They further said that the SOC has been established to ensure the security of sensitive information assets, including the ASYCUDA infrastructure, and to reduce potential cyber risks.
They also mentioned that a specialised team of NBR is managing the centre using advanced technology and following international standards.
Through the SOC, potential internal and external cyber attacks, risks, suspicious activities, and other cyber threats in Bangladesh Customs’ cyberspace will be monitored, detected, and preventive measures taken round the clock.
NBR officials stated that with the launch of this new system, information security in customs management will be further strengthened and the reliability of digital services will increase.
