The fourth round of the National Cricket League got underway today with three matches, while another match is scheduled to begin tomorrow. Sanjamul scores second first-class century
At the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, Rajshahi finished the day on 275 for 9 against Dhaka Division. Sanjamul, coming in at number three, top-scored with 112 runs off 181 balls, including 13 fours, carrying the innings almost single-handedly. This is his second century in first-class cricket. Sabbir Rahman contributed 47 runs and Towhid Hridoy 32. Dhaka’s off-spinner Ashraful Islam took four wickets, while Shakil claimed three. Sanjamul was eventually bowled by Salahuddin late in the evening.
Rabbiul takes five wickets for Rangpur
At Bogura’s Shaheed Chandu Stadium, Rangpur pacer Rabbiul Haque produced a devastating spell against Barishal, taking 5 wickets for 25 runs from 11.4 overs, including five maidens. Barishal were bowled out for 196, with Fazle Mahmud Rabbi top-scoring with 80. No other batter surpassed 30 runs, and eight players failed to reach double figures. Mukidul Islam also supported with three wickets. Rangpur, in their first innings, lost openers Abdullah Al Mamun and Jahed Javed early and will resume tomorrow at 2 for 43, with unbeaten batters Naveen Islam (21) and Nayeem Islam (6) at the crease.
Strong batting from Mymensingh
At the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Mymensingh ended the day on 271 for 8 against Chattogram. Aich Molla scored 65 and Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury 54, forming a 96-run partnership. Azizul Hakim Tamim and Arif Ahmed both made 36. National-team discard off-spinner Nayeem Hasan claimed three wickets, while Irfan Hossain took two. Mymensingh had lost five wickets for 106 before Aich and Shuvagata steadied the innings, but both fell to Nayeem’s bowling.
