After more than a decade in the entertainment industry, actress Safa Kabir is enjoying an unusually long break from shooting.
The actress has not worked on a production for more than two months and is spending around six weeks travelling across the United States.
For Safa, such an extended holiday is rare. Although she has frequently travelled abroad for work, she says she has never taken such a long break simply to travel and spend time with loved ones.
“I have travelled to different places, and I often went abroad for shoots, but I never had the opportunity to travel for this long purely for leisure. I had been trying to do this for a long time, and finally the opportunity came. I am having a wonderful time,” she said.
This trip has also allowed Safa to reconnect with a close childhood friend who now lives in the United States.
“We grew up together and have so many memories. But after she moved to the US, we had not been able to meet for a long time. She is my best friend, and I came here to see her. We had not been able to spend quality time together for a long time, so it has been wonderful to reconnect,” Safa said.
The actress has also been spending time with members of her family who live in the US, turning the trip into something of a family reunion.
Her travels have taken her from New York to Austin and Los Angeles, as well as Mexico, among several other destinations.
“We are all very busy with our own lives now, so we rarely get the chance to meet. The main purpose of this trip was to meet everyone and travel together. That is why I chose the summer. I wanted to give myself and the people close to me some time,” she said.
After more than 12 years in the industry, Safa says the extended break has given her an opportunity to step away from her busy shooting schedule and reconnect with the people and memories that matter to her.
