Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union distributed first aid boxes to 12 residential halls and key facilities on campus and organised a training session for students.
The programme was held on Monday at the RUCSU building conference room.
The initiative, led by RUCSU Women’s Affairs Secretary Saiyida Hafsa, covered male and female halls, the international dormitory, the gymnasium, and the university stadium.
Rajshahi University Medical Centre Chief Medical Officer conducted the first aid training session.
Saiyida Hafsa said the initiative aims to ensure basic emergency support for students.
“These first aid boxes are not meant for major treatment, but they can provide immediate care if a student suddenly falls ill,” she said.
Rajshahi University Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Administration Mohammad Main Uddin said the initiative will help ensure emergency medical support in halls.
“The first aid boxes have been provided for use in emergencies. Such welfare activities are a responsibility of the students’ union, and the initiative is commendable,” he said.
The training workshop was moderated by RUCSU Executive Member A B M Khaled.
RUCSU Assistant General Secretary S M Salman Sabbir, Assistant Women’s Affairs Secretary Samia Jahan, and more than 50 hall leaders were present.
