Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez in a civil ceremony in Portugal, marking a new chapter for the football superstar and his family.
The couple reportedly tied the knot on Tuesday, 11 August, in the coastal town of Cascais near Lisbon. Portuguese media reported that their five children attended the private ceremony.
Ronaldo confirmed the marriage through an Instagram post showing two hands wearing wedding rings. The image quickly attracted more than three million likes within 30 minutes.
The 41-year-old forward and Rodríguez have been together for 10 years. They first met at a Gucci shop in Madrid, where Rodríguez worked while Ronaldo played for Real Madrid.
The couple announced their engagement on 11 August 2025. Rodriguez shared a photograph of her large diamond ring and wrote: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Ronaldo has five children. He shares two daughters with Rodríguez, while she has also helped raise his other three children.
Their first daughter together, Alana Martina, arrived in 2017. Their youngest daughter, Bella, was born in April 2022 alongside a baby boy who was stillborn.
The family now live in Riyadh, where Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr. The Portuguese star joined the Saudi club in 2022 and signed a new two-year contract last year, keeping him there until 2027.
Ronaldo has built one of football’s most decorated careers. He has played for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr and Portugal while winning the Ballon d’Or five times.
He recently featured at his sixth and final World Cup, matching Lionel Messi’s record for appearances in the men’s tournament.
Ronaldo has also scored nearly 1,000 career goals and remains Portugal’s captain.
The marriage comes as Ronaldo enters the later stages of an extraordinary playing career. Away from the pitch, he and Rodríguez have now formalised a relationship that began a decade ago in Madrid.
