The Inland River Ports have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal No 1 as temporary gusty or squally winds are likely to affect parts of the country, according to a special bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The bulletin said rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary west or northwesterly gusty or squally winds, with speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour, may occur over Rangpur, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram and Sylhet.
It said river ports in these areas should hoist cautionary signal No 1.
The warning for inland river ports will remain in force until 6 pm on Sunday, according to the bulletin.
