Rishad Hossain produced his best bowling performance of the Big Bash League on Friday in Perth and once again stood out on a busy day of cricket.
Playing his fourth match of the season, the leg spinner claimed his first three wicket haul in the BBL. He finished with figures of 4 overs for 33 runs and 3 wickets. At the end of his spell, the commentators praised him and called it a terrific effort, his best in the tournament so far.
Perth Scorchers scored 150 for 8 in their 20 overs. Rishad played a key role in keeping the total in check. He did concede a few runs and was hit for two sixes, but he struck at important moments and broke strong partnerships.
His first wicket was Cooper Connolly, who was batting well. He then removed Aaron Hardie in the middle overs. Rishad’s best moment came against Laurie Evans. After conceding a six on one ball, he came back strongly. The next delivery turned sharply and beat Evans, who was stumped. It was a smart response under pressure.
All three of Rishad’s wickets were crucial. Each batter was well set at the crease. His spell helped Hobart Hurricanes control the game through the middle overs.
With the Bangladesh Premier League starting on the same day, many fans may not have followed his Big Bash performance closely. Still, Rishad made sure his impact was felt once again. His decision to continue playing in the BBL during the BPL window is proving right with every match.
