The Retired Armed Forces Officers’ Welfare Association (RAOWA) has called for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the death of former Bangladesh Air Force officer KM Tahsif Souri and ensure justice.

RAOWA leaders made the call on Saturday after visiting Tahsif’s bereaved family at their residence in the Karabi building of the Rajuk Apartment Project in Sector 18 of Uttara.

Speaking to journalists after the visit around noon, RAOWA Joint Secretary and retired Lieutenant Colonel Abu Nowroz Khurshid Alam said the delegation had gone to offer condolences to the family and find out whether they needed any assistance in dealing with the incident.

Referring to his conversation with Tahsif’s father, KM Enayetul Karim, he said the family might be unable to attend to everything necessary under the circumstances.

“We asked him what needed to be done and what kind of assistance we could provide,” he said.

According to Khurshid Alam, Tahsif’s father told the delegation that several law enforcement agencies were investigating the incident, including examining CCTV footage and questioning eyewitnesses.

“Like the people of the country, all members of the defence community hope that law enforcement agencies will uncover the truth very soon and take appropriate action,” he said.

He assured the family that RAOWA would stand by them and provide all necessary assistance.
