West Bengal television stars Ranajoy Bishnu and Shyamoupti Mudli married on Valentine’s Day this year in a ceremony attended by several prominent Tollywood personalities. Just five months later, reports of trouble in their marriage have surfaced.
Rumours suggest the couple are heading for separation and may be living apart. Neither actor had commented on the speculation in recent days. Shyamoupti, however, told TV9 Bangla that she did not want to comment on the matter. Ranajoy has also remained silent.
Although they publicly married on Valentine’s Day, the couple had reportedly completed their legal marriage earlier and kept it private. They held the wedding and reception on the same day, with the morning beginning with a turmeric ceremony. Ranajoy was seen dancing and Shyamoupti appeared cheerful throughout the celebrations.
The reason behind the reported marital trouble remains unclear. Speculation has ranged from disagreements in their married life to rumours of a third person entering the relationship.
Ranajoy has previously faced public attention over his relationships. Before Shyamoupti, he was in a long-term live-in relationship with actress Sohini Sarkar. His reported former partners also include Antara Chowdhury, Shivangi Sharma, Sayantani Guhathakurta, Priyanka Mondal and Asmita Mukhopadhyay. After Sohini’s marriage, several of his former partners reportedly made allegations against him, including claims that he had enjoyed himself using money from his partners.
Professionally, Ranajoy currently stars in Star Jalsha’s Pratigya, opposite Tomader Rani actor Abhika Malakar. The series, which began in April, has already gained popularity, with the pairing receiving attention.
Ranajoy earlier gained recognition for his role as Minu in Star Jalsha’s Bajlo Tomar Alor Benu. He met Shyamoupti while working on Guddi, and rumours of their relationship began after the show ended. The two later worked together on a music video shot in Ladakh but maintained that they were close friends and kept their relationship private.
Whether the latest divorce rumours are true remains unclear.
