The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken special security measures across the country to maintain law and order situation on 15 August.
The elite force has intensified intelligence surveillance, increased security in sensitive areas, and deployed RAB personnel to prevent sabotage by banned organisations, extremist groups, and miscreants.
According to a press release issued by RAB on Thursday, each battalion has formulated its own security plan by reviewing security threats within their respective areas of responsibility.
Additionally, sensitive locations have been identified, and necessary security measures have been strengthened.
To prevent extremist groups, banned or active-banned organisations, and anti-state or anti-government elements from creating untoward situations during the programmes of various political parties, intelligence surveillance on their activities and movements has been heightened.
Plainclothes intelligence teams have been deployed to monitor routes leading to event venues within their respective areas.
The RAB is also gathering information on suspicious individuals and those associated with banned organisations. The elite force personnel have been deployed alongside intelligence operatives at political programme venues and their surrounding areas.
RAB stated that strict vigilance is being maintained to prevent members of banned or active-banned organisations, miscreants, or extremist groups from infiltrating 15 August programmes to cause chaos.
Alongside intelligence activities, necessary security and preventive measures have been implemented to foil sabotage or subversive activities by suspicious persons and banned groups.
Cyber patrolling has been intensified to prevent the spread of rumours and propaganda on social media. RAB warned that immediate action will be taken if anyone attempts to incite chaos by uploading misleading posts, comments, or images.
The RAB Bomb Disposal Unit has been kept on standby to take swift action if explosives or explosive-like objects are discovered. RAB will operate under its own leadership, co-ordinating as necessary with Special Security Force (SSF), local administration, other law enforcement agencies, and intelligence organisations.
To guarantee safety, advance information is being collected through area-based contacts, informers, or sources. RAB has urged public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious individual, object, or activity to the nearest law enforcement agency.
