A special team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) arrested two identified terrorists and extortionists along with a foreign-made pistol, a magazine and bullets during a raid in the Labonchara area of Khulna on Friday.
The arrestees were identified as Nazim aka Nadim (30) son of Shahjahan of Amtola and his associate Md Masud Rana (37) son of Abdur Rahman Miazi of Islampara.
Acting on a tip off, the CPC Special Company of RAB-6 raided Nadim’s residence in the Islampara area under Labonchara Police Station around 11:50am. During the search, RAB recovered one foreign-made pistol, one magazine, four rounds of live bullets and one empty cartridge.
According to RAB, the two are known terrorists and extortionists in the area. A case under the Arms Act is being filed, after which they will be handed over to Labonchara Police Station along with the seized firearm and bullets.
