In a special operation in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a drug dealer along with 100,000 yaba tablets.
The operation was carried out on Wednesday night by members of RAB-15’s CPC-1 Teknaf camp along the Teknaf-Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive Road in Noakhali Para area of Baharchhara Union in Teknaf Upazila.
The arrested drug dealer, Mohammad Hakim (23), is a resident of Noakhali Para in Ward 9 of Baharchhara Union in Teknaf Upazila.
This information was disclosed in a press release signed by RAB-15’s Assistant Director (Law and Media Officer) and Assistant Police Superintendent AM Faruk.
According to the press release, yaba tablets were recovered from beneath the ground in a betel nut garden belonging to Mohammad Hakim on Kader’s land in Noakhali Para.
During the operation, Hakim himself dug up the ground and handed over the yaba tablets.
The recovered yaba tablets were found in 10 packets, wrapped in a white plastic bag. Each packet contained 50 small air-tight zip-locked poly packets, with 200 yaba tablets in each poly packet. An Android mobile phone was also seized during the operation.
Police Superintendent AM Faruk stated that a case has been filed against the arrested accused under the Narcotics Control Act.
He was later handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station.
