Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested five suspected criminals in connection with a mugging at a bKash shop in Adabar, Dhaka.
The arrestees include Abu Sayeed, second‑in‑command of what RAB described as the “Kobzikata Group.” The others are Rashed Khondkar, 32, Md Liton, 28, Md Tosir, 30, and Md Tariqul Islam, 25.
RAB‑2 members carried out raids in Mohammadpur and Pirerbagh around midnight to make the arrests, said Additional Superintendent of Police (CPSC) Muhtamim Hasan.
He added that operations are continuing to capture more members and recover weapons.
On Tuesday, assailants stormed the Adabar bKash shop, hacked the shopkeeper, and snatched Tk300,000 and a mobile phone. Shopkeeper Shafiqul was critically injured and admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
