Pubali Bank PLC has organised a “Cashless Rajshahi” awareness programme and virtually inaugurated 14 electronic banking booths across the Rajshahi Region as part of efforts to expand digital payments under the theme “Cashless Transactions, A Smarter Bangladesh” and support Bangladesh Bank’s “One Nation, One QR Payment (Bangla QR)” initiative.
The programme was organised by Pubali Bank’s Rajshahi Region, where the 14 electronic banking booths were inaugurated through video conferencing. The initiative aims to promote secure digital transactions and increase awareness about technology-driven banking services across the country.
Md Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP and Honourable Minister for Land, attended the event as the chief guest. Pubali Bank PLC Director Azizur Rahman was present as the guest of honour, while Md Amzad Hossain Khan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank’s Rajshahi Office, and Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank PLC, attended as special guests.
The event was also attended by Pubali Bank Deputy Managing Director Md Shahnewaz Khan; Bangladesh Bank, Rajshahi Office Directors Md Bayazid Sarker and Md Nazim Uddin; Md Rabiul Alam, Deputy General Manager and Head of the Alternative Delivery Channel Division; Md Sazidur Rahman, Deputy General Manager and Regional Head of Rajshahi Region; senior executives from the bank’s head office, branch managers, officers and employees, local dignitaries and representatives from the business community.
Addressing the programme, Md Mizanur Rahman Minu said financial literacy and the expansion of technology-based banking services were essential to building a Smart Bangladesh. He described initiatives jointly undertaken by Bangladesh Bank and Pubali Bank PLC as commendable efforts to provide secure and modern banking services to people across the country, particularly those living in remote areas.
He also stressed the importance of continuing awareness programmes to encourage wider use of digital transactions.
Speaking at the event, Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank PLC, said the bank has been working continuously to expand modern, secure and technology-driven banking services across Bangladesh in line with Bangladesh Bank’s directives and the vision of Smart Bangladesh.
He said initiatives such as “Cashless Rajshahi” would play an important role in increasing financial awareness and bringing digital banking services closer to customers. He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to providing customer-focused, innovative and secure banking solutions in the future.
Through promoting cashless transactions, encouraging wider use of Bangla QR and expanding modern digital banking services, Pubali Bank PLC continues to support financial inclusion across Bangladesh.
