Priyanka Chopra celebrated Karwa Chauth with a personal touch, creating a simple mehendi design that paid tribute to her husband, Nick Jonas, and their daughter, Malti Marie. The actor applied the design herself and shared a glimpse of it on her Instagram Stories.
According to NDTV, Priyanka incorporated the initials of both Nick and Malti into the design. Alongside the image, she wrote, “DIY..Piya ke naam ki [in the name of my husband].. happy karwachauth to all those celebrating.” The caption reflected the personal significance of the design as she marked the festival.
In another Instagram Story, Priyanka showed herself applying chashni, or sugar syrup, to the mehendi. “The question is will the chashni work? IYKYK,” she wrote. People traditionally apply sugar syrup to help mehendi develop a darker colour.
Priyanka previously shared a romantic Karwa Chauth memory involving Nick during her appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2025. She recalled how they once struggled to spot the moon while Nick was performing at a stadium.
“We’ve tried to spot the moon in the strangest places. Once, we were at a stadium where he was doing a show, and the moon just wouldn’t appear. There were clouds, and rain was about to start. Around 60–70,000 people were present and the show kept going on. We waited till 10 pm, then 11 pm, and still the moon wasn’t visible,” she said.
She then revealed how Nick found a way to help her break her fast. “Want to hear something romantic? He finally took me up in a plane, above the clouds, and then I broke my fast after seeing the moon,” she said.
Priyanka and Nick married in Jodhpur, India, in December 2018. They have a daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, who was born via surrogate in January 2022.
On the work front, Priyanka is set to appear in S. S. Rajamouli’s Varanasi, alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
