Prime Bank PLC has launched a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) in Natore to strengthen the capabilities of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and support inclusive economic growth, the bank said in a press release.
The programme is being conducted under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) with support from the SME and Special Programs Department of Bangladesh Bank. It is designed to provide entrepreneurs with practical business skills and improve their access to formal financial services.
The training covers business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, bookkeeping, banking services, digital financial transactions and overall business management.
According to the press release, participants who successfully complete the programme will be better equipped to expand their businesses, access formal banking services and contribute to sustainable economic development.
Md Masum Billah, Program Director and Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the inauguration as chief guest. Mohammad Wasim, Joint Director and Deputy Program Director of SICIP at Bangladesh Bank, joined the event as special guest.
The programme was chaired by Md Abdul Halim, Regional Head of Prime Bank PLC. Also present were Shaikh Nur Alam, Head of SME Business and Refinance at Prime Bank PLC, and other senior bank officials.
A total of 25 young entrepreneurs from the Natore region are taking part in the initiative, which aims to strengthen their entrepreneurial skills, improve business sustainability and enhance their competitiveness in the market.
Prime Bank said it remains committed to promoting entrepreneurship, advancing financial inclusion and supporting the growth of Bangladesh’s small and medium-sized enterprise sector through strategic partnerships and capacity-building initiatives.
