The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday announced the schedule for the presidential election, with voting set to take place on 20 August.
Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed disclosed this information on Thursday afternoon.
According to the announced schedule, nomination papers can be submitted to the office of chief election commissioner or election officer on 13 August from 10am to 4pm.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted on 16 August from 10am, and the deadline for withdrawal of candidacy is 4pm on 18 August.
Voting will be held on 20 August from 2pm to 5pm in the parliament chamber (session room of the Parliament).
The senior secretary noted that the voter list for the presidential election has already been finalised.
Following the announcement of the schedule, necessary administrative and other preparations are being made to ensure the election is completed smoothly.
