Police have arrested Disha, a friend of former Air Force flight lieutenant KM Tahsif Souri, in connection with his death.
She was arrested during a drive on Saturday night, Tongi River Police Outpost Inspector Firoz Ahmed confirmed on Sunday.
Police sought a seven-day remand for her, the official said.
Meanwhile, the first day of remand for another friend of Tahsif, Dwip, is underway on Sunday. Investigators have reportedly obtained important information from him during questioning.
Following the family’s allegations regarding Tahsif’s death, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) initially took Dwip, who was regularly in Tahsif’s company, into custody for questioning.
During interrogation, Dwip provided information about various places he had visited with Tahsif and the reasons for those visits. The PBI later visited several locations based on the information he provided.
However, investigators are trying to determine what happened before Tahsif’s death and whether anyone else was involved.
After the four-day remand period ends, investigators may verify the information provided by Dwip and seek another remand if necessary.
