An unidentified body has been recovered from the Maini river in the Babuchhara Mogya Karbari Para area of Dighinala, Khagrachhari. The body was discovered on Wednesday morning.
Gogon Bikash Chakma, chairman of Babuchhara Union, said locals spotted the body floating in the Maini river and immediately informed the police. Dighinala police arrived at the scene and took the body into their custody.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Zakaria of Dighinala Police Station confirmed the recovery of the body from the Babuchhara Mogya Karbari area. He mentioned the body had been examined, and it will be sent to the Khagrachhari Modern District Hospital for postmortem examination.
If no relatives are found, the body will be buried as unclaimed.
