Miscreants hurled several petrol bombs at the Public Works office in Gopalganj in early hours of Thursday, amid the lockdown called by Awami League.
A car parked inside the office premises caught fire during the attack, said Abdur Rahim, a security guard of the Public Works office.
He added that the staff of the office extinguished the fire. The car was damaged in the incident. Following the event, panic spread throughout the area.
Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Faizur Rahman said, “We have inspected the spot. We have recovered one unexploded petrol bomb. Legal proceedings are underway regarding this matter.”
